I despise hip hop

I hate like how hip hop takes a 2 second sample, repeats it for the duration of the entire track and adds little to keep it interesting. This works pretty much like that but you keep it interesting. You add good sounds to complement it (the strings, chords triggered in unison with the snare drums...) and I love the crazy drum processing. Those effects are usually reserved for jungle. It's good to see they sound good in slower tempos. Keep working on it. Good track. You only get a 6 because it's a work in progress. If it were the full song you'd probably get a 10.

Haha, no worries, thanks bro ;)

Definitely not my style

Those trance sounds always remind me of the dark ages. Alice Deejay ruled the world, the SANDSTORM was everywhere, people took Scooter seriously... It brings up bad memories. I've always liked fast breakbeats, though, so there. The production is decent (the drums should be a little louder, it seems). It's mostly well executed. It may be a little simplistic melodically, but then again, that's standard practice within dance music. Definitely not my style but good work.
P.S.: I like the fact that it's uplifting. You're not trying to be a badass. You make the world a better place. Congratulations for that.

I'm glad you liked it even though it's not your thing. Thanks

Good sounds

I like the sounds you put in too. But there's not a lot of content there. There's no melody so it's the sort of music you feel rather than listen to. That kind of music is very difficult to make. You need to make the sounds come to life. It sounds too dry and mechanical. Familiarize yourself with effects. Once you know how to process the sounds right you'll make better productions. From what I can hear, it seems your best friend right now would be the equaliser. Learn to make the best of it. Some individual sounds might sound worse with EQ than without but they'll sit better in the mix.

Thanks for the in depth review. I'll try to make it better :)

You're in the wrong website

People here just don't have their ears trained to actually listen to music. They're mostly kids or young adults who never strayed too far beyond top 40 radio. You've got some intricate stuff going on there. Very good music. This could easily fit in one of Mike Paradinas's better albums. The melody evolves slowly and smoothly and sound design is top notch. I'll be sure to keep an eye out for your music and store it right beside my collection of Aphex Twin records.

glad you enjoy it. will have to chack out Mike Paradinas

It's ok

The first few seconds are pretty good. But the rest just doesn't click. Those 4/4 beats are lazy. The melody repeats all the time. At first it seems like you're going somewhere. By the end it just feels like you're playing around with your software. Maybe if you add some effects to it (it all sounds too dry) and some cymbals it might sound better.

weezlpeep responds:

yeah I did this in 15 mins.. was pretty bored... spring break... and yeah just playing around with the software.. when I have time I'll make a short loop and I'll make sure I make it less dry... and cymbals doesnt sound bad, make sure to check out a better version later this week, and check out cynthias first trip to asia, I'm pretty sure U'll like that one better... maybe lol :P
